Yet questions linger: how much did the Precursors take from Newt, to what lengths will Hermann go to free him, and is the other even truly there, or merely a rabbit of the other’s making, a wish fulfillment fantasy that they’re chasing into the abyss?

Sorry for the delay, guys! Thank you for your patience, I hope you enjoy this somewhat calmer, fluffier chapter :3

I’m actually doing more rewriting of Ch. 11 of TOWOID than I anticipated but I actually REALLY like where it’s going. This whole fic was written without an outline, just sort of on instinct for what needed to happen next and what most interested me to explore.

Ch. 11 always felt necessary but it was a bit choppy in that I sort of felt like I was wrenching the narrative around to hit certain points, which led to some abrupt mood transitions. Now that I know where this is all going, it allows me to slow down a bit and explore the thoughts and emotions with a bit more depth and nuance. I really like what it’s allowing me to do, though I still hope to ideally get this to all of you by today!
